Equipment weight is more than the machine’s catalog number. Include the bucket or attachment, chains, binders, fuel, tools and anything mounted on the trailer.

Payload alone does not prove fit. Check deck width and length, axle placement, tongue-weight range, ramps, approach angle, tie-down locations, brakes and the tow vehicle’s limits.
Use the reserve as a screening minimum rather than permission to load up to a calculated edge. Actual machine weight can differ by cab, tracks, tires, attachments and fuel. The trailer label and scale weight settle the question.
